Overview

LinguaStart is a Chrome extension that replaces the new tab page with a language practice experience. This policy explains what data the extension uses and how it is handled.

Information We Collect

LinguaStart does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, browsing history, or messages.

The extension stores user preferences through Chrome storage so your setup can be restored across sessions. Depending on Chrome sync settings, some preferences may sync through your Google account using Chrome's own sync service.

How We Use Information

  • Save your language and theme preferences.
  • Remember display options such as pronunciation and typography settings.
  • Cache local content-pack data for faster loading.
  • Show a daily background image fetched from a third-party image service.

Data Storage

Settings may be stored in Chrome Sync, while cache and metadata are stored locally on your device. You can clear this data by removing the extension or clearing browser data.

Third-Party Services

LinguaStart requests images from picsum.photos for decorative background content. When your browser connects to that service, standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and request metadata may be processed by that service. The extension does not send your personal content to that service.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not use advertising trackers, analytics beacons, or advertising identifiers inside the extension.

Children's Privacy

LinguaStart is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended to collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. If we do, we will post the revised version on this page with a new updated date.

Contact

If you have questions about this policy, please contact the developer through the Chrome Web Store listing.
